Maruti Suzuki India has launched it’s most iconic car in the Indian market, the Swift. The car is in it’s fourth generation in 2024 and had created waves in the Indian car market for it’s youthful design and great engine options along with sorted dynamics all that along with a price so attractive that it had customers flocking the showrooms.
Now in it’s fourth generation avatar the car looks more modern and upmarket maintaining it’s silhouette of the previous generations, this is unmistakably a Swift.
While the design looks more evolutionary, the car is all new from ground up and so is the engine. Suzuki has made a change to the engine, gone is the old 1.2-litre four cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which was known for it’s refinement and peppy nature which also delivered stellar mileage and was bulletproof in terms of reliability.
The engine is replaced by a brand new Z series new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 82PS and 112Nm of torque which is 8PS and 1Nm lesser than before, but the focus has been on greater efficiency.
Maruti-Suzuki has launched the fourth-gen Swift in India, priced between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.65 lakh; Rs 25,000-37,000 higher than the outgoing model.
